The History of City View Centre
Celebrating over 50 Years of Excellence
1974
On March 24, 1974, City View Day Care Centre opened its doors as a commercial corporation with an enrolment of 5 children at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church on Merivale Road. As time progressed, the centre's enrolment grew to 45 children.
1976
In January 1976, the Home Child Care program was established to serve children and families in independently contracted provider homes throughout the City of Nepean.

2001
In January 2001, City View Day Care was chosen as the lead agency for the Ontario Early Years Centre of Nepean-Carleton. Because of the growth and diversity of programs now offered by the organization, it was decided that a new name would better reflect the services, and in December 2001 our new name officially became City View Centre for Child and Family Services.

2020
In May 2020, construction began on the Extended Day House. This addition to our existing building provides an infant program for 10 children and a Flexible Care program for up to 15 children needing care outside the Monday to Friday 9-5 schedule.
2021
On April 6th, 2021, construction was finished and the infant program opened its doors.
In August 2021, the Extended Day House "a home away from home" opened its doors and welcomed its first client. A new entrance on Deercroft Avenue was added for this innovative "first of its kind" program.

We look forward to serving many families through all the programs at City View!
