Toddlers are always on the move and ready for their next adventure. They need a place that gives them the freedom to discover new things and tap into their creative side. They need a place that can keep up with them!

For over 45 years, we've been moving and playing with toddlers. Our child care program is suited for toddlers aged 18 months to 2.5 years. We give your child a place to wander and exercise their newfound independence in a safe space supervised by our qualified educators.

Our Toddler Child Care Program

Toddlers are naturally curious about their surroundings, which is why our program celebrates their adventurous side by providing an environment that encourages exploration.

You can trust that your toddler will be safe in our child-centric, newly renovated facility. Our program offers a safe and stimulating environment to help toddlers learn and grow. Our highly qualified staff provides individualized care to ensure your child has a fun and enriching experience. Our program's ratio is one (1) educator for every five (5) children.

Your Child's Safety is Our #1 Priority

  • All staff are carefully screened and must provide a negative Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector, proof of up-to-date immunizations, and standard first aid and CPR Certificate.
  • A Canadian Certified Playground Inspector regularly inspects outdoor playgrounds.
  • Our Registered Child Care Educators to child ratio exceed government standards.

How Learning Happens

Learning is a natural process for children, and our Toddler Program's curriculum will help build the foundation of your little one's cognitive skills. With opportunities to explore their environment, they'll play alongside other toddlers and discover the world around them.

We see every moment as a learning opportunity —from social interactions to sensory experiences. We engage your child with puzzles and activate their problem-solving skills with brain-stimulating games. Your toddler will be able to tap into their creative side with our daily art time and group singalongs.

We understand the importance of providing your child with a warm and loving home away from home. Our program is led by caring and dedicated professionals academically trained in child care. The curriculum is carefully designed by Registered Childhood Educators using the "How Does Learning Happen" (HDLH) and "Early Learning For Every Child Today" (ELECT) frameworks.

A Typical Day

Morning

  • Drop-Offs, Greetings & Play
    7:00 - 8:30 a.m.

    Once our centre opens, our smiling staff is ready to greet your toddler. We start the day off with some free play time. Your toddler gets the opportunity to lead the play in a safe and stimulating environment.

  • Toilet Training & Morning Snack
    8:30 - 9:00 a.m.

    We work with you and your toddler to reinforce their individualized daily toilet training. After, a nutritious snack is provided by our onsite chef and/or bottle-feeding.

  • Indoor/Outdoor Play
    9:00 - 10:45 a.m.

    Your child can explore our playground independently or with friends. They'll have access to climbers, tricycles and sports equipment while supervised by our staff.

  • Toilet Training & Group Time
    10:45 - 11:30 a.m.

    After playtime, your child has the opportunity to practice their bathroom routine before coming together for group singalongs and story time.

  • Lunch
    11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Your child has worked up an appetite, and it's time for lunch. A delicious, nutritious lunch is served and prepared by our onsite professionally-trained chef.

Afternoon

*All snacks and meals are on a three-week rotation following Canada's Food Guide to promote healthy growth and development. Children with specific dietary requirements may bring their own food from home.

Toddler Child Care Program Rates

Rates as of December 31, 2022: $31.43 per day billed monthly or bi-monthly.

Please note that the rate posted is as of the time of the website update. Rates are subject to change and are approved by the City of Ottawa. We are mandated to stay within the medium price point for our service area.
